Clean up your act!

For me this journey I'm on is about personal development and becoming a better version of me. It's not about being the fittest person. I'll never be someone who loves exercise enough to do it to that level. I do it mainly to keep myself healthy so I can live longer, and to keep myself happy because it really does impact my mood and mental well-being.

I am constantly looking for areas to improve on.

This year I had a few things I wanted to work on.

1)Further trying to be a more socially less awkward person and being more open, positive and friendly and increasing my circle of friends and having more of a social life.

2)Being more environmentally aware and doing more to be a better human.

3)And to spend more time on my appearance, look after my skin better and try to make the most of what I have more. This will also help to keep my mental wellness in check I'm hoping.

Beachbody fits into being environmentally friendly already as I'm not driving to the gym everyday!

However, when it comes to doing more with my appearance it appears that there are untold number of chemicals and toxins in our beauty products. So many of the products we use are making us ill. We are becoming overloaded with toxins which are disrupting our hormones and damaging our cells.

When I found this out it didn't make sense just to focus on eating clean and exercising to keep healthy. We need to wake up and realise things we use everyday aren't necessarily safe for our health or our environment.

I have found a skincare company that really cares for the environment. In fact they are Carbon Negative! If you would like the details I will pass them onto you. I can't get enough. I've gone from somebody who would sometimes go to bed with makeup still on, to having a full beauty routine morning and night and a drawer full of lotions and serums I'd never thought to use before! They smell divine, are really effective and are 100% naturally derived and sustainable. They are actually healthy!

Another thing I have changed is I no longer use cotton wool pads. They are very harmful to the environment. I use an organic bamboo face cloth to reduce the impact on the environment. Get in touch if you would like to know how you can get a free bamboo cloth!

Alternatively you can buy reusable washable pads. Also cotton buds are just as bad if not worse because most have a plastic stick. These do not biodegrade and either pollute our soil or our oceans. Much better is bamboo or paper sticks if you feel the need to use cotton buds. Always make sure the cotton is organic too.
